Cruise vessels

Port of Aarhus is able to accommodate three cruise vessels at a time at Pier 3 and Pier 4. Plus alternative quays in the Eastern Harbour with water depth up to 13.5 m. No max LOA. The harbour (Pier 3 and Pier 4) is less than 15 minutes' walk from the city centre.

In cooperation with the tourist organisation VisitAarhus one day trips are arranged for the cruise passengers. On arrival the passengers are welcomed by i.e. young musicians from Den Jyske Pigegarde or the Aarhus Pigegarde. Also folk dancers will show traditional Danish folk dance.

Den gamle By - The Old Town

In the relaxed and charming atmosphere of the Old Town open-air museum you can gain an impression of town life in Denmark from the 16th century to the beginning of the 20th century.

The Aarhus Stone
In the hall of runic stones at the Museum of Prehistory at Moesgård there is a unique collection of runic stones, dating back to the Viking Era and found in the surroundings of Aarhus.

The changing of the Guard
The Danish queen has her summer residence in Aarhus and here she and her family spend part of the summer, Christmas and Easter. The Royal Life Guard change every day at noon when the queen is in residence.

Clausholm Castle
Clausholm Castle together with the stables and the park represents one of the earliest and most complete baroque layouts in Denmark erected in the 1690ies.

Aarhus Cathedral
Over 300 feet long Aarhus Cathedral is the longest ecclesiastical building in Denmark, and the only cathedral situated so close to the sea. It is in fact dedicated to St. Clement, the patron saint of sailors.

The Church of Our Lady
The Crypt Church within the The Church of Our Lady is one of the oldest preserved stone churches in Scandinavia - perhaps the oldest - dating back to 1060.

The Frigate Jutland
The frigate Jutland - the last full-rigged oak ship of the Danish navy. The frigate was launched in 1860, participated in the battle off Helgoland and hauled out of action victoriously.
