Port security information


General information on ISPS

The Port of Aarhus has with effect as from 1st. July 2004 fully implemented the ISPS Code at its harbour facilities. (International Ship and Port Facility Security Code). A Port Facility Security Officer has been appointed for each area.

 

The six security facilities are as follows. 

  1. Container Terminal
  2. Multi Terminal
  3. AAK Denmark a/s/The Solae Company 
  4. Oil Terminal
  5. Cement Terminal
  6. Ferry Terminas

Anybody, who is staying at the Aarhus harbour area, should on inquiry of Port Security be able to prove his/hers identity and explain the reason for the presence. If persons do not comply with these requirements the Port of Aarhus will report the incidence to the police and the person could be liable to a fine.

 

 

 

 

Requirements for ships:

Ships entering Aarhus must supply the following information to the ship?s agent before arrival.

  • Information on the latest 10 ports of arrival
  • Supply a copy of the ship?s "International Ship Security Certificate" on first call.
  • Supply the ship?s "Continuos Synopsis Record (CSR) Supply a crew list
  • If necessary: a list of crew changes
  • Supply a list of visitors on board during the port stay
  • Supply a detailed list of companies who are due to deliver commodities and/or services during the ship?s stay
  • If passengers on board - supply a passenger list

Port of Aarhus requires as a minimum information on ad. 1, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 in advance send on e-mail to: security@port.aarhus.dk or Fax +45 86 76 02 37. The first time a ship is calling Aarhus a copy of the ship?s "International Ship Security Certificate" is required. Ships, who do not have a ship?s agent, must i due time of arrival provide the necessary information direct to the Port of Aarhus on e-mail: security@port.aarhus.dk or fax +45 86 76 02 37.

 

Requirements for the crew:

Crew, who wishes to go ashore, must bring:

  1. Shore pass issued/stamped by the ship?s agent or by The Port of Aarhus.
  2. Personal identification documents with photo.

Issue of "Declaration of Security" (DoS):

DoS is only issued under the following circumstances:

  • The ship is operating at a higher security level than the port facility or another ship it is interfacing with.
  • There has been a security threat or a security incident involving the ship or involving the port facility, as applicable.
  • The ship is at a port, which is not required to have and implement an approved Port Facility Security Plan.

Ships, who need a Declaration of Security and who fulfill the above mentioned security conditions must in due time:

  • Announce that they require a DoS and suply documentation for the above requirements to the Port of Aarhus on e-mail security@port.aarhus.dk or fax +45 86 76 02 37
  • Anchor at the Aarhus Road and wait for the Security Officer in charge or the Port Facility Security Officer of the facility.

 

All expenses for issue of a Declaration of Security should be paid by the vessel.
